Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, confirmed that the company will add a new feature to WhatsApp that allows support for multiple devices simultaneously. Zuckerberg also indicated the company's intention to introduce a new "disappearing mode" across all chat threads, along with a "view once" option.
#### Support for Up to 4 Devices
Zuckerberg stated, “It has been a significant technical challenge to synchronize all your messages and content correctly across multiple devices even when your phone's battery runs out, but we have managed to solve this issue and look forward to rolling it out soon.” He added, “Users will be able to connect up to four devices at the same time using WhatsApp's multi-device feature.”
#### Disappearing Mode and View Once for Some Messages
WhatsApp introduced the disappearing messages feature last year, which can vanish after seven days. Now, it aims to expand this capability by adding a message disappearing mode that will allow users to enforce disappearing messages across all their WhatsApp chat threads. Once the user enables the disappearing mode, all WhatsApp message threads and conversations will disappear after a specified time.
Facebook also plans to add the "view once" feature, allowing users to share media such as photos and videos that can only be seen once, similar to sending photos on Instagram. After the recipient views the image or video, it will disappear from the chat.
Zuckerberg mentioned that the new features will be available to users in a public beta during the next month or two, according to the Indian Express.
