Egypt: Lawyer of TikTok Girl Reveals Surprise After 3-Year Sentence

The lawyer of Haneen Hossam, known as the TikTok girl in Egypt, revealed a surprise after she was sentenced to 3 years in prison and fined 200,000 Egyptian pounds for human trafficking. After the Cairo Criminal Court sentenced her to 3 years of hard labor on the charge of human trafficking, her lawyer stated that he will submit a request for her release after she has served half of her sentence, having already spent 21 months behind bars. He explained that she could potentially be released in the next available amnesty and be out of prison soon. Previously, the public prosecution had decided to refer Haneen Hossam, Moudha Al-Adham, and others for criminal trial on charges of human trafficking.
