The spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichai Adraee, announced in a tweet that "IDF forces foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons and narcotics across the Lebanese border. Army reconnaissance detected several suspects in the western sector of the border transporting bags from Lebanon into Israel yesterday. The forces tracked the suspects and arrested the alleged Israeli accomplices." Adraee revealed that "during the arrest operation, 15 pistols, 36 kilograms of hashish, and dozens of boxes of ammunition valued at approximately two million shekels were seized." He also pointed out that "the Israeli army is investigating whether Hezbollah provided assistance for the smuggling attempt and our forces are making extensive efforts to combat the phenomenon of drug and weapon smuggling on the Lebanese border."
