The covered hall in the New Administrative Capital hosted the match between the Tunisian national team and the Austrian national team to determine the 25th and 26th places in the Handball World Championship held in Egypt.
In this match, Tunisia secured the President's Cup after defeating Austria with a score of (37-33). Tunisia finished the first half of the match leading with a score of (19-16), showing dominance from the Carthage Eagles, although the Austrian team put up a strong fight in the second half. With this victory, the Tunisian team, led by coach Sami Saidi, achieved 25th place in the World Championship after a commendable performance in the President's Cup, following their failure to qualify for the main round of the tournament.
It is worth mentioning that the Austrian team finished in 26th place in the championship after losing to Tunisia, while Cabo Verde finished last due to withdrawing from the tournament because of a COVID-19 outbreak among its members. South Korea occupied the 31st place, while Morocco achieved 29th place after winning against Angola in a marathon match, placing Angola in 30th place in the tournament.
