Instagram Allows Content Creators to Earn from Viewers

The social media platform has begun testing a new feature that allows content creators to provide exclusive access to their content for followers in exchange for a subscription fee.

According to CNET, Instagram is currently offering this feature in a trial phase to ten content creators, including basketball player Sedona Prince, model Kelsey Cook, actor Alan Chikin Chow, and Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles.

Creators can set a monthly subscription fee for access to the desired content, ranging from 99 cents to 99 dollars.

Bonnie Michelle, a spiritual guide and well-known content creator on Instagram, stated, "Having a subscription service on Instagram enables a more intimate relationship with my followers and audience... I am very excited to nurture these connections and create a lasting impact that helps sustain my work."

Instagram plans to gather feedback from content developers and followers who used the new feature before making a final decision on broader availability in the future.
