The Saudi football club Al-Shabab announced today, Saturday, the official signing of Polish midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, coming from Russian club Krasnodar, on a contract that extends until the summer of 2023. The official Al-Shabab account on Twitter confirmed that the club's management signed a professional contract with midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak for one season starting this summer, wishing him all the best during his time with the "Sheikh of Saudi Clubs".
Al-Shabab benefited from a decision by FIFA, issued on June 21, which allows foreign players and coaches to suspend their contracts with Russian clubs until June 30, 2023.
Krychowiak is the fourth signing for Al-Shabab in the current summer transfer market, following the acquisition of South Korean goalkeeper Kim Seung-kyu from Kashiwa Reysol, Ahmed Abdu from Al-Wehda, and Mohammed Adam "Mo Adams" from Inter Miami.
Grzegorz Krychowiak (32 years old) moved to Krasnodar in the summer of 2021, participated in 15 matches, scored 5 goals, and provided 2 assists. Throughout his career, the Polish international has played for several European clubs, including Bordeaux, Stade de Reims, Nantes, Sevilla, Paris Saint-Germain, West Bromwich, Lokomotiv Moscow, AEK Athens, and Krasnodar.
Krychowiak has participated in 91 international matches with the Polish national team, scoring 5 goals, and has played in UEFA Euro 2016 and 2020 as well as the 2018 World Cup.
