The veteran Brazilian international defender Dani Alves, the player with the most titles in the history of football, announced on Friday that he will not sign with any club until the end of the year, following his departure from Sao Paulo. Alves, the 38-year-old former star of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, brought an end to rumors linking him to various Brazilian clubs, including Fluminense, Flamengo, and Atlético Paranaense, with this announcement. He hinted that he does not intend to retire through the words he added to his message: "It is not over yet, and I will return."
The transfer window in Brazil closed on Friday, while the European transfer window closed at the end of last month. Alves left Sao Paulo after a dispute over wages between the two parties. Brazilian media reported that Sao Paulo owes Alves 11 million Brazilian reais (around 1.8 million euros).
