The "Democratic Gathering" bloc held its regular meeting in Clemenceau, attended by the head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, bloc leader, MP Taymour Jumblatt, and MPs Marwan Hamadeh, Akram Chehayeb, Wael Abou Faour, Hadi Abou Al-Hassan, Bilal Abdullah, Faisal Al-Sayegh, Raji Al-Saad, the party's secretary general, Zafer Nasser, and MP Jumblatt’s advisor, Hossam Harb. Various files and public affairs were discussed during the meeting. The bloc emphasized the necessity of utilizing the remaining time in the legislative term of the Parliament to pass all reform laws, especially the financial and economic recovery plan, the general budget, and a revised capital control project that primarily ensures depositors' rights. The bloc announced that its MPs would present a detailed discussion in tomorrow's session to propose amendments to the flaws noted in this proposal. Additionally, the bloc stressed the need to unify the exchange rate to achieve financial balance as much as possible, while also addressing the urgency of the so-called customs dollar issue, accompanied by the activation of social safety net programs that target the most needy families. Among these programs is the financial card that the Democratic Gathering has called for, which the government has not successfully launched, in addition to the pressing and serious health and medical file. The bloc urged the importance of respecting constitutional obligations and fulfilling them on time, particularly the presidential elections, and reaffirmed the need for serious efforts to form a government and adhere to constitutional texts regarding the current government's full duties without any constitutional interpretations in the event of presidential vacancy.
