Dr. Geeta Aurangabadkar, clinical director of ProActive For Her, told the Indian Express that the best way to prevent and eliminate lifestyle diseases is through annual check-ups, especially for women over the age of 30.
1. **Comprehensive Blood Test**
A test to assess overall health and detect disorders, including anemia and even leukemia.
2. **Lipid Profile**
Measures the amount of fat molecules and several types of cholesterol, helping to check the risk of heart disease and vascular health.
3. **Thyroid Function Test**
Tests the thyroid function through a simple blood test to determine if the gland is underactive, suffers from deficiency, or is overactive.
4. **Blood Sugar Level**
Diabetes can cause blood sugar levels to rise to abnormally high levels due to the body's inability to produce or use insulin properly.
5. **Pap Smear**
A simple test for cervical cancer that detects issues at an early stage and identifies changes in cervical cells that may develop into cancer later, which need monitoring.
Women in their 30s can consider testing every 5 years, combining a Pap smear with a human papillomavirus (HPV) test.
