French Ambassador: Lebanon Will Remain Important to France and Its President

The French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo, confirmed that her country stands with Lebanon and supports its people, considering that the parliamentary elections that took place were a positive opportunity to convey the voice and concerns of the people to parliament. In a statement on the occasion of the French National Day, Grillo stated that "Lebanon will remain important to France and its President, not only due to the shared history but also because of Lebanon's uniqueness in the East." The ambassador called for a judgment on the Beirut Port explosion case, which caused significant destruction with clear consequences for the entire population. She noted that France is contributing to Lebanon's recovery through indirect and direct negotiations, as well as plans being developed in coordination with the relevant parties to restore life to a country strained by crises, especially following the August 4 explosion, explaining that France has supported Lebanon with approximately €200 million since 2020.
