Drug Trafficking Along the Highway

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement:

As part of the daily follow-up conducted by the Intelligence Branch of the Internal Security Forces to limit drug trafficking and promotion in various Lebanese areas, and as a result of the diligent efforts made by the specialized units in the branch, information was obtained regarding an unidentified individual's activity promoting drugs on foot along the highway from Mirna al-Shalouhi to the Boucheerie Dam.

Through intensive investigations and inquiries, his identity was established as E. A. (born in 1984, Syrian). Orders were given to determine his location and surveillance was implemented in preparation for his arrest.

On June 28, 2022, after careful monitoring, a patrol of the branch was able to apprehend him red-handed in the Boucheerie Dam area while he was promoting drugs on foot. Upon searching him, the following was found in his possession:

- 6 envelopes containing cocaine weighing 12.6 grams.

- 4 envelopes containing heroin weighing 7.2 grams, a sum of money, and a mobile phone.

A search of his residence located in the Boucheerie area resulted in the seizure of the following:

- 6 plastic containers containing cocaine weighing 22.8 grams.

- A piece of hashish weighing approximately 41.4 grams.

- A sum of money and a mobile phone.

During the interrogation, he confessed to the charges regarding his promotion of drugs on foot to several customers along the highway extending from the Mirna al-Shalouhi area to the Boucheerie Dam area. Legal measures were taken against him, and he was handed over, along with the seized items, to the appropriate authorities based on judicial instructions.
