Ibrahim Tarshishi, head of the Bekaa Farmers Syndicate, pointed out that there has been a decline in vegetable and fruit prices since April 24. However, he noted that the increase in tomato prices is due to difficulties faced by farmers because of weather conditions, which forced them to repeatedly plant. Tarshishi explained, in an interview with Voice of Lebanon 100.3-100.5, that farmers are in a state of continuous losses, moving from one disaster to another, and are now selling from their savings to continue, as the requirements for farming have become very expensive.
