French international forward Kylian Mbappé has rejected a record offer to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain in order to pursue his dream of joining Real Madrid, according to French media reports. According to the newspaper "Le Parisien," Mbappé has already turned down two offers to extend his contract.
The report stated that the Parisian team's management presented an enticing contract to Mbappé, which included an annual salary of 45 million euros, after tax deductions. It was noted that no current football player earns the kind of salary that PSG offered Mbappé.
Currently, the highest-paid player in football is PSG's Argentine star Lionel Messi, who receives 40 million euros per year. Mbappé had stated last October that Real Madrid made an offer to acquire him during the last summer transfer window, but Paris Saint-Germain rejected the deal. The French forward did not hide his desire to move to Real Madrid at that time.
The website "Transfermarkt," which specializes in assessing the market value of football players, values Mbappé at 160 million euros; however, any team will be able to sign him for free when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends next summer.
