According to numerous statistics in the UAE conducted by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center, the trade surplus of the UAE with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries amounted to 817 million dollars in the first quarter of 2020.
This surplus was achieved after non-oil national exports reached 35.601 billion dirhams, compared to imports totaling 32.61 billion dirhams. The statistics indicated that re-exports reached 23.3 billion dollars, bringing the total trade between the UAE and Gulf countries to 42 billion dollars, which constitutes 14.88% of the total trade of the state. Saudi Arabia topped the list, with UAE exports to it amounting to 18.2 billion dirhams, against imports of 17.22 billion dirhams. Oman followed with 9.94 billion dirhams in exports and imports of 4.94 billion dirhams. Kuwait's exports were 4.99 billion dirhams against imports of 3.53 billion dirhams, while Bahrain recorded exports of 2.463 billion dirhams and imports of 6.89 billion dirhams.
