Celtic Scottish club coach Neil Lennon resigned from his position due to the poor performance of the team under his management this season. He failed to restore balance to the team during their title defense campaign and felt it was in everyone's best interest for him to step down.
It is noteworthy that Celtic is currently 18 points behind their traditional rival for the Scottish football supremacy, Rangers, managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Celtic Football Club today announced that Neil Lennon has resigned from his position as Football Manager with immediate effect. They expressed their sincere gratitude to Neil for all he has done for the club and wished him success in the future.
In an official statement, Celtic announced: "Celtic Football Club today confirms that manager Neil Lennon has resigned from his position with immediate effect." The statement added: "Neil has served the club with distinction as both a player and manager, achieving many successes, the latest being the domestic treble in December."
It is worth mentioning that Neil Lennon took over from Irishman Brendan Rodgers (currently the manager of Leicester City) in 2019, successfully leading the team to two league titles, two Scottish Cups, and the League Cup. Assistant coach John Kennedy will temporarily oversee the team.
