A series of communications initiated by member of the "Development and Liberation" bloc, MP Ibrahim Mousawi, regarding warnings issued by some Russian university administrations for students to return from Lebanon to their universities has resulted in a reversal of this decision, allowing for hybrid learning.
According to the National News Agency, following extensive follow-ups and ongoing communications by MP Ibrahim Mousawi about the warnings given to students to return from Lebanon to their universities, which they had left due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the university administrations decided to revoke this requirement. The agency clarified that Mousawi conducted a series of calls over several days with the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the caretaker government, Charbel Wehbe, who promptly followed up on the matter with the Lebanese ambassador in Moscow, Shawki Bou Nasar, and the Russian ambassador in Lebanon. The agency added that the efforts made resulted in the concerned university administrations reversing their decision, provided that Lebanese students continue their studies through synchronous remote learning (online). MP Mousawi thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Lebanese ambassador for their efforts in this matter.
