Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Orders Release of 505 Inmates in Dubai

Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has ordered the release of 505 convicted inmates from various nationalities in Dubai's correctional and penal institutions on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

Public Prosecutor Essa Issa Al Humaidan confirmed that "the order for pardon comes from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum's desire to bring happiness to the hearts of the families and relatives of the pardoned individuals during such occasions that embody values of tolerance and forgiveness." He emphasized the condition for the released individuals to commit to the right path for continuing their lives as constructive members of society while fully respecting the law and its provisions, which are fundamental to maintaining community safety and stability.

He added that "the Public Prosecution has immediately begun coordinating with the General Command of Dubai Police to expedite the release process," urging "the pardoned individuals to serve as role models in self-reflection and determination to return to the right path, avoiding any offenses that may bring them back under the law's jurisdiction."
