Two sources, one Lebanese and one Syrian, have informed 'Warna' that reports circulating in some media outlets about the release of Syrian convicts handed over to Syria are completely false.
The sources confirmed that these Syrian convicts are serving their sentences in Syria. Those who have completed their sentences and detention period have been released in accordance with the judicial agreement signed between Beirut and Damascus.
The Lebanese source described these rumors as attempts to disrupt the new Lebanese-Syrian relationship by parties linked to remnants of the Assad regime.
