A Saudi Man Swept Away by Floods on the Day He Invited His Neighbors for Iftar

In a heartbreaking story circulated by social media activists in recent hours, a Saudi citizen drowned in the floods of the Rakhou area in the province of Yanbu. Activists reported that the deceased had invited his neighbors to break their fast at his home on Wednesday evening; however, he tragically drowned before iftar after being swept away by the floods of Wadi Rakhou, as published by Al Arabiya.

Social media users shared a video clip showing civil defense teams in Yanbu discovering the body, with the assistance of several volunteer citizens. The incident began when the civil defense operations room received a report yesterday afternoon about a person falling into the floods of Rakhou following heavy rainfall that filled the valleys and tributaries, leading to his recovery as a deceased after hours of searching.

It is worth noting that the National Center for Meteorology highlighted in its weather report for today that the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by hail remains, which could lead to floods and active winds in parts of the regions of Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, as well as in the highlands of Makkah and Medina.
