In the context of escalating tensions between the US and Israel on one side and Iran on the other, Iranian news agency Tasnim reported on Thursday the death of six naval personnel from the Iranian army due to US strikes conducted last Tuesday.
According to the agency, "During the criminal strikes by the US military two nights ago on September 1st in the south of the country, six personnel from the Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy were martyred," without specifying the exact location of their deaths.
The agency also reported that "three army pilots were killed in American strikes on Tuesday night."
The US military had announced last Tuesday that it struck targets belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, following attempts by the latter to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz and US military personnel in the region.
