Huge Bonus Then Farewell: What Happened with Ronaldo and United

Reports have revealed that Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo received a large financial bonus from the "Red Devils" before deciding to leave the English club. The British newspaper "The Sun" reported that Ronaldo received "a financial bonus amounting to six figures" just days before informing Manchester United's management of his desire to leave the team. The newspaper quoted a source described as knowledgeable within United stating: "Ronaldo's announcement of his departure after the bonus may not be just a coincidence."

Last week, reports indicated that Ronaldo informed his management of his intention to leave this summer, which United initially rejected, especially since his contract was still valid. However, it seems that the English club officials eventually yielded to reality and agreed to "the Don's" departure, according to Portuguese journalist Bruno Andrade. Andrade stated on his official Twitter account: "Manchester United agreed to the pressure (exerted by Ronaldo) and is ready to sell."

He clarified that "the management wants around 15 million euros (or 13 million pounds) to open negotiations with interested clubs." Ronaldo will be looking for a new team after experiencing a "disastrous season" without titles at Manchester United, as he ranked sixth in the Premier League, which means he will not participate in the Champions League next season.
