In this match, the Palestine basketball team secured third place and will compete in the playoff to qualify for the Asian Cup finals after a resounding victory of 129-74 against Sri Lanka in the final match. This result revived the Palestinian team's hopes of reaching the finals through the playoff, compensating for their loss to Kazakhstan.
Palestine owed this victory to player Sani Al-Sakkakini, who scored 36 points. All players of the Palestinian national team participated in the match without exception, with standout performances from Sani Al-Sakkakini, Kendall, Jamal Mayala, Tamer Habash, Ahmad Younis, Waseem Mask, Ibrahim Abu Rahal, Tarek Al-Tamimi, Ahmad Haroun, Omar Dirawi, Ali Shahada, and Sari Al-Julan.
It is worth mentioning that with this result, the Palestine national team raised its score to 6 points, and their matches against their Jordanian counterparts have been postponed until further notice due to COVID-19.
