Timour Jumblatt, the head of the "Democratic Gathering" and a member of parliament, emphasized the "priority of forming a government as it is the essential link in the necessary remedies, away from certain calculations that contribute to the paralysis of the nation and the oppression of the citizen, for the required economic rescue." He called for "an end to the deadly stalemate that has been practiced by the ruling team for years, which continues to destroy the state's foundations."
During meetings on Saturday at the Moukhtara Palace with delegations from various social and municipal backgrounds, Jumblatt addressed the harsh living conditions and the crises affecting food security, particularly regarding flour. In this context, he stressed the "necessity for the judiciary to take legal action against those responsible for corruption in the flour file, and to replace the current chaotic support mechanism with organized methods that directly provide flour to citizens."
Jumblatt also advocated for increasing coverage from the Ministry of Health and social security funds while discussing some difficult health realities. Several meetings were attended by MPs Akram Shehayeb and Wael Abu Faour, the Secretary-General of the Progressive Socialist Party, Zafer Nasser, and Jumblatt's advisor, Hossam Harb.
Among the visitors to Moukhtara was a delegation from the family of the child Fadl Ayman Nasr, accompanied by sheikhs, community figures, and families from the town of Kfar Qatra, who informed him about the circumstances of the incident that led to the child's death, placing the entire case at the disposal of MP Jumblatt. Additionally, a delegation from the Malab family in Baysour presented a social issue to Jumblatt for resolution. Jumblatt received a series of requests regarding various issues.
