On Saturday, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid announced new appointments in the government, which included two ministers.
Bin Rashid stated that, upon the directives of the President of the UAE and after consultation with the Emirati Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, "Hamad Mubarak Al-Shamsi, the former Secretary-General of the Supreme Petroleum Council, has been appointed as Minister of State in the UAE government. Additionally, Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman has been appointed as the Chief of Protocol for the Vice President and Prime Minister with the rank of Minister." Bin Rashid wished the two new ministers success in their duties.
In another matter, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its confidence and support for the Saudi judiciary's rulings regarding the case of the murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, stating, "We express our confidence and support for the Saudi judiciary's rulings which affirm the Kingdom's commitment to enforcing the law with transparency, and we emphasize our full support for its efforts aimed at stability and security in the region," stressing, "the rejection of any attempt to exploit Khashoggi's murder case or interfere in Saudi internal affairs."
