In Egypt, a horrific crime occurred when a mentally unstable individual hanged his sister while she was preparing breakfast. Adel Hamouda, the Deputy Public Prosecutor under the leadership of Counselor Ahmed Magdy, Director of the Itay El Baroud Prosecution in Beheira Governorate, decided to hold the young man for investigation. According to Al-Shorouk Egyptian newspaper, the details of the case date back to an incident in a village within the jurisdiction of the Itay El Baroud police station, where a mentally ill man hanged his 27-year-old sister.
The Minister of Interior Assistant, Major General Ahmed Arafa, ordered the formation of a research team from the Criminal Investigation Department at Beheira Security Directorate, headed by Major General Mohamed Sharawi, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, and Colonel Hani Sobhi, Inspector of Criminal Investigation at Itay El Baroud Branch, along with the police officers from Itay El Baroud police station. Upon their arrival and investigation, it was determined that the perpetrator was the brother of the victim, who is "mentally ill." After legal procedures were taken, the accused was arrested and confessed to hanging his sister while she was preparing breakfast at home.
The accused is now in custody, and necessary reports regarding the incident are being prepared, with investigations ongoing under the supervision of Counselor Ahmed Magdy, Director of the Prosecution, and Counselor Dr. Ahmed El-Tahamy, the General Prosecutor for the Prosecutions of Southern Damanhour.
