A horrific murder has occurred in the village of "Arab Abu Zakhary" in the Quesna Center, Monufia Governorate, Egypt, after a clothing merchant killed his new wife just 10 days after their wedding. The news website Masrawy published details of the case based on official investigations, which began when the husband of the young bride, 22 years old, devised a plan to get rid of her shortly after their wedding ceremony.
The 48-year-old merchant had lost his first wife two years prior and had not considered marrying again until he met a girl 26 years younger than him. He decided to propose and marry her, leading to their wedding and the beginning of their marriage, under the assumption that a new life would compensate for his loneliness following his first wife's death.
Initially, everything seemed fine up until the wedding day; however, disagreements started on the first day of marriage, though no one knew the details of their lives. "The bride's family visited her at her apartment, and everything seemed normal."
However, the age difference that initially attracted the merchant later became a point of contention, as the wife taunted him about his weakness since their first wedding night—this is according to the accused. After just ten days of marriage, the time seemed right to the husband to end this relationship after continuous ridicule from his wife about his perceived inadequacy, driven by fear of his family and friends discovering this humiliation.
In a two-story rural house, the husband began planning the right moment to eliminate his young wife. He waited until late at night and assaulted her with a knife until she breathed her last.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the body was found lying on its back in the bedroom, with evidence pointing to a deep neck wound inflicted by a sharp weapon, and it was confirmed that the husband had fled the scene.
After his arrest, the husband did not deny his actions, admitting to the details of his crime while discussing the circumstances of the incident. He confirmed that his new wife had been mocking his weakness as a man, which provoked him, leading to her murder with a knife until she ceased to breathe.
Moments of regret did not help the accused, who stated, "I'm the one to blame and brought all this upon myself by marrying a girl the same age as my children. The people who wanted to gloat at my expense were the ones who encouraged this marriage. I regret everything that happened, and the devil played a significant role in my mind, leading me to commit the crime, but this is my fate."
