This victory presents a valuable gift to their rival, the leaders of the standings, Al-Riffa, as the gap between them and Al-Riffa Al-Sharqi widened to 9 points, with one postponed match for the latter. The only winning goal for Al-Muharraq was scored by their player Abdul Wahab Maloud in the last minute of the first half, capitalizing on a critical error by Hamad Al-Dosari, the Al-Riffa Al-Sharqi goalkeeper, who mishandled a high ball that fell from his hands, allowing Maloud to score easily.
Al-Riffa Al-Sharqi had requested a penalty in the 63rd minute after Faisal Boudhom fell, but referee Ali Al-Samahiji ordered play to continue.
