In a heartbreaking incident that shocked the emotions of Egyptians, authorities apprehended a woman who killed her infant daughter by hanging her and disposed of the body in a sewage drain. The details reveal that residents in the Warraq area of Giza Governorate found the body of an infant in a sewage drain at the entrance of a building, which showed signs of deformity due to the water.
A police force arrived at the scene, and upon inspecting the body, it was determined that the infant was newly born, only a few days old, and showed signs of strangulation.
Investigations and examination of surveillance cameras revealed that a woman was behind the disposal of the body in the drain. Authorities were able to identify and apprehend her, only to discover the shocking news that she was the child's mother.
Further investigations indicated that the mother had previously reported to authorities that her infant had been kidnapped from her arms by unknown individuals. However, when confronted with surveillance footage showing her leaving the house with the infant and returning without her, without any confrontation with strangers, she admitted to having strangled her daughter and disposed of the body out of fear of her husband.
The mother confessed that she had lied to her husband, who was traveling, claiming she was pregnant with a male child, contrary to the truth. After giving birth, and with her husband's return imminent, she conceived the idea of disposing of the infant to prevent him from discovering her deception. She added that she hanged the infant and disposed of her body in a sewage drain while informing her husband that their child had been kidnapped, so he would not find out she had given birth to a girl.
