In a crime that shook Syria, a brother stripped himself of humanity and killed his sister in a horrific manner after she rejected his harassment attempts. The police in the Ghazaliyah area of Rural Damascus arrested the murderer of 11-year-old girl Amal, who was found in her home burned and stabbed in her back and neck.
According to the police chief of the Ghazaliyah area, Major Ammar Al-Amouri, after investigations, the body of the girl Amal was discovered and examined. Appropriate measures were taken, leading to the identification of the murderer, as reported by the Syrian newspaper Al-Watan.
It was revealed that the perpetrator is Amal's brother, named Ayoub, who was arrested and confessed to his crime during investigations. In his account of the incident, the perpetrator stated: "When I returned home, I attempted to harass my sister, and when she resisted and tried to escape, I hit her, slit her throat with a knife, and then burned her, trying to conceal the evidence before fleeing to my relatives' house."
He added, "Upon my return and failing to hide the body, my mother questioned me about my sister, leading to her yelling that there was a fire, and Amal had become its victim." The police chief confirmed that appropriate procedures were taken against the perpetrator, and he was handed over to the judiciary to receive his punishment and due justice.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior had issued a statement announcing that on Saturday, the body of a girl was found in her family's house in the Ghazaliyah area of Rural Damascus, inside the bathroom, with a large portion of her body burned and several stab wounds in her back and neck.
