First Meeting of the Elected Authority: Sirt - Misrata Road To Be Opened Soon

A statement from the media office of the elected Libyan government announced that the new authority in the country held its first meeting today, Sunday.

According to the statement published on the "Africa News Portal" website, the meeting included the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnifi, as well as council members Abdullah Lafi and Musa Al-Koni. The statement noted that President Mohamed Al-Mnifi confirmed that the coastal road between Sirt and Misrata will be opened soon. He emphasized that this step is a priority for the new authority following the adoption of the unity government, urging the military committee to secure the parliamentary session to pass the government in Sirt.

This meeting marks their first gathering following their election in Geneva from the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, according to the media office statement. It is noteworthy that the United Nations Support Mission in Libya announced the results of the vote by members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum last Friday, revealing that Mohamed Younes Al-Mnifi won the presidency of the Presidential Council, while Abdul Hamid Dbeibah leads the government, along with Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Lafi as members of the Presidential Council.
