Cairo International Stadium will host the match between Egyptian club Al Ahly and Sudanese club Al Merrikh in the first group stage match for both teams in the CAF Champions League.
The first group matches include, in addition to Al Ahly and Al Merrikh, Tanzanian club Simba, which secured an important victory against its host Vita Club from Congo with a score of 1-0. South African coach Pitso Mosimane announced the Al Ahly first team squad in preparation for their first match in the Champions League group stage.

The Al Ahly squad includes: Mohamed El Shenawy, Ali Lotfy, and Mustafa Shobeir as goalkeepers. The defense consists of: Mahmoud Wahi, Yasser Ibrahim, Ramy Rabia, Badr Bannon, Saad Samir, Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, and Mohamed Hani.
In midfield, the players include: Amr El Solia, Hamdi Fathy, Alio Diang, Akram Tawfiq, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Mahmoud Kahraba, and Ajayi.
The attack features: Marwan Mohsen, Trezeguet, and Mohamed Sherif.
Excluded from the squad are: Walid Soliman, Ali Maaloul, Ayman Ashraf, Taher Mohamed Taher, Salah Mohsen, Nasser Maher, and Karim Nedved due to injuries, while Hussein El Shahat was excluded due to suspension.
The match is scheduled for this evening at 9 PM Mecca time, and will be broadcast on beIN Sports HD7.
