The escalating attacks by Israeli settlers over recent weeks in the West Bank took a violent turn when settlers set fire to a mosque and scrawled offensive slogans on its walls during an assault on the village of Bazzaria, northwest of Nablus.
Settlers also intruded into the areas of Yizra east of Tayaseer, east of Tubas, and the village of Awarta southeast of Nablus, according to an Al Arabiya/Al Hadath correspondent.
Widespread Arrest Campaign
Israeli forces launched a widespread arrest campaign, detaining several Palestinians during a raid in the Qaryon neighborhood in the old town center of Nablus and Balata al-Balad east of the city. Additional arrests were reported during an incursion into the town of Rumana west of Jenin.
The Israeli military also entered the Shuweika suburb north of Tulkarm, raiding a residential building, and probed the village of Qaryut south of Nablus, the town of Tafuh west of Hebron, the town of Tammun south of Tubas, and the village of Anin west of Jenin, where damage was evident after a home incursion in Beituniya.
Bombardment on Gaza
In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli navy detained 10 fishermen off the coast near the areas of Sheikh Ajleen and Zawaida, according to local Palestinian sources.
Simultaneously, Israeli artillery targeted areas east of Al-Tuffah neighborhood in the east of Gaza City, while Israeli armor fired upon eastern areas of Jabalia in the northern strip.
Shooting was also reported in the eastern and southern areas of Khan Younis by Israeli forces stationed in controlled zones.
In recent months, the West Bank has witnessed near-daily attacks targeting Palestinians and their properties, with limited arrest operations for suspects.
According to the Palestinian 'Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission,' settler attacks have resulted in more than 25 Palestinian deaths in the first eight months of this year.
