Boughegh's Hospital Discharge After Memory Loss

Baghdad Boughegh, the Algerian striker, has left the hospital after undergoing tests related to an incident involving a shared ball during the match against Egypt. However, there are still doubts about his participation in the highly anticipated quarter-final match against Morocco in the Arab Cup next Saturday due to injury. Boughegh, who plays for Qatari club Al Sadd, collided with Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy in the first half, but he managed to stand up and walk normally before being substituted by coach Madjid Bouguerra at halftime for Arab Sudanese, and then taken to the hospital for tests.

Salah Aboud, the media coordinator for the Algerian national team, told Reuters that Boughegh underwent examinations and left the hospital around 4 AM on Wednesday in Doha, but he will rest from training. He added that Boughegh is expected to participate in training on Thursday, but it is still too early to determine his status for the match against Morocco, although he hopes to be ready to lead the attack.

Bougera informed reporters through a translator on Tuesday that Boughegh did not recall the collision with El-Shenawy during a discussion at halftime and decided to substitute him based on medical advice. Algeria drew 1-1 with Egypt and finished second in Group D due to a lower fair play record concerning warnings and red cards. They will face Morocco, the top team from Group C, for a chance to advance to the semi-finals.
