Ideal Product for Long-lasting Satiety

Dr. Yelena Tikhomirova, a Russian nutrition expert, announced that nuts create a lasting feeling of fullness and help boost the immune system. In an interview with the newspaper "Izvestia," the expert notes that nuts are beneficial substances capable of producing a long-term sense of satiety. However, it is important to be aware that they are high in calories. She states, "Nuts are an ideal product, but we must always remember that they contain high calories. Therefore, it is not recommended to consume more than 20-30 grams of them per day. It is also advised to eat them in the first half of the day, rather than at night."

The expert emphasizes that nuts are among the most calorie-dense foods, with no type providing less than 600 calories per 100 grams. Additionally, they are rich in various types of fats. She explains, "The fat composition in nuts is diverse - they contain saturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are essential for building cells and enhancing immunity. Nuts are also crucial for beauty, as the cells of connective tissue, which are constantly renewed, are made up of protein and fats."

According to her, nuts contain important minerals such as selenium, chromium, and zinc, which the body obtains solely from plant sources. For example, to maintain selenium levels in the body, it is sufficient to consume three Brazilian nuts a day. She adds, "The fats in nuts are ideal because they provide a feeling of fullness for a long time. Therefore, adding a limited amount of nuts to any dish helps to forget the feeling of hunger for an extended period."
