Former U.S. Secretary of State Loses 41 Kilograms: Here's What He Did

Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo lost 41 kilograms in six months, revealing that he did it without the help of a trainer or nutritionist. Photos circulated by foreign media showcased a significant transformation in Pompeo's appearance after his weight loss, prompting many to inquire about his regimen.

Pompeo told the New York Post that he enhanced his eating habits and worked out in a home gym for half an hour, five to six times a week. The 58-year-old stated he decided to lose weight last June after he was surprised to see he weighed 136 kilograms for the first time in his life. He noted that he had gained nearly 45 kilograms over a span of 10 to 11 years, coinciding with wear and tear on his foot joint, which he acknowledged contributed to his significant weight gain.

However, many weight loss experts found Pompeo's claims unconvincing. Some commented to the Kansas City Star that losing weight does not simply happen through better eating and joining a modest home gym. Mika Laserti, considered Kansas City's top personal trainer for weight loss, said, "I've been in this job for 20 years, and I've never seen anything like this. Losing 41 kilograms requires a strict diet." He added, "Moreover, it is impossible for someone to lose all that weight with just half an hour of exercise daily, especially at Pompeo's age."

Al Rose, a bodybuilder and weight loss coach in New York, echoed Laserti's sentiments, stating that losing all this weight in six months is unlikely without a strict diet, weight loss medications, or surgery. Rose predicted that Pompeo might be suffering from an illness. Pompeo had mentioned to the New York Post that speculation from some individuals and social media users regarding his health issues, or that he might have cancer, was "disturbing, very bad, and completely inaccurate."
