Klopp Addresses Mohamed Salah and Comments on Penalty

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, emphasized his support for Mohamed Salah, his star player who missed qualifying for the 2022 World Cup following Egypt's defeat by Senegal in penalties last Tuesday. The German coach stated, "Mohamed Salah wants to win again. His desire will be stronger now than ever. He is very smart and knows that Senegal is a very strong team now. They have a good generation. Salah is fine."

He added, "I am very happy for Sadio Mane and I feel for Salah. The laser during the penalties was not a good thing. It’s different when two teammates compete in such a big match, but they are both very professional. They will handle it the right way." Klopp continued, "Senegal is the strongest team in Africa, and Egypt made their task difficult twice; they weren't lucky in the qualifying draw."

Klopp expressed his happiness with reports that the Premier League may return to the five-substitute rule, saying, "Good news; the number of matches won't decrease. The Premier League understands that now."

He indicated that defender Trent Alexander-Arnold may play against Watford on Saturday, saying, "He wanted to play with England but couldn’t; his participation will depend on training. I think he will be ready for Manchester City."

Liverpool currently sits in second place in the Premier League with 69 points from 29 matches, just one point behind leaders Manchester City. Liverpool will host Watford on Saturday afternoon, while Manchester City will visit Burnley.
