What to Do When Your WhatsApp Account is Hacked?

WhatsApp Messenger is one of the most popular chat applications worldwide, used by over two billion people. Hackers aim to breach WhatsApp accounts to cause harm to the account holders and their friends. If you experience a hack, take the following steps:

The first step anyone should take after their account is compromised is to send a message to WhatsApp support at support@whatsapp.com. In your message, include words like "stolen" or "lost" and request that your account be suspended. Be sure to include your phone number in the message.

Next, it is important for the individual to uninstall and reinstall the account on their phone several times throughout the day to confuse the hackers. Don't forget to inform relatives and friends about the account hack and ask them not to respond to any incoming messages from your WhatsApp account.

WhatsApp activation is done by entering your personal phone number in the app's data field. To verify the user's identity, WhatsApp sends a verification code consisting of 6 digits. If this code is received by someone else, it indicates that the account has indeed been hacked. This is, of course, one of several methods to hack an account.

You will have 30 days after your WhatsApp account is suspended to recover the files stored in it; otherwise, they will be permanently deleted from the backup.
