An American woman was unaware that her remarks before a job interview were being recorded, nor did she realize that they would reach approximately 7 million people around the world. Shelly Martinez was preparing at her computer for an interview with a local airline in the United States to secure a flight attendant position. Minutes before the interview, Shelly was heard speaking with an unknown person, who did not appear in the video, sarcastically about the interview. She asked, "What is your impression of SkyWest Airlines and what does it resonate with you?" She sarcastically replied, "That is the dumbest and most ridiculous question I've ever heard in my life." Suddenly, Shelly's expression changed as she noticed the camera on the company's digital platform had recorded her words. She attempted to justify herself, saying she was just practicing and wasn't aware the conversation was being recorded, and apologized by saying, "I am so sorry." Martinez later announced on social media that she "did not get the job" and was also at risk of being fired from her current job after her boss learned about her secret job search. The video went viral on TikTok, garnering around 7 million views and over a million likes.
