His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, emphasized that the Dubai Chamber of Commerce has played a crucial role in developing Dubai’s economy and establishing the emirate's reputation as a vital financial and business hub in the region. During his meeting with the members of the "Dubai Chambers" board yesterday, he stressed the importance of prioritizing the economy in the upcoming phase, stating: "My message to all is: the economy is our priority.. and you are our partners.. together, hand in hand, we will guide the UAE towards a renewed, prosperous, and solid economic future."
He pointed out that the global economy has undergone tremendous changes, and Dubai has evolved and achieved significant leaps, indicating that the goal is for Dubai to be the world’s leading economic capital. He underscored the need to gather all creative minds and exceptional efforts to elevate the economic movement in Dubai to new horizons.
In detail, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met with the members of the "Dubai Chambers" board in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Media Council, and honorary president of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Jumaa Al Majid, alongside Abdulaziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Dubai Chambers, and Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Executive Office Director of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to discuss the completion of restructuring the three chambers and to define tasks, responsibilities, and priorities for the upcoming phase. This aims to elevate the performance of the Dubai Chambers, which are one of the most important pillars of Dubai's economy, reinforcing their role as the main driver for the development of various economic sectors, and as a vital support umbrella for the financial and business environment, providing all forms of technical, logistical, procedural, and legislative support within a strategic vision aimed at solidifying Dubai's historical position in the region as the most dynamic, integrated, and rapidly growing economic hub, and the most open to various global economic experiences.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the members of the "Dubai Chambers" board for their efforts over recent years and their role in achieving a qualitative leap in creating a business environment conducive to growth and prosperity, attracting expertise and investments, serving as an ideal incubator for all types of economic activities. He stated: "The global economy has experienced tremendous changes, and Dubai has evolved and achieved significant strides.. and here we are today, a global capital of economy." He added: "Today, we are thinking for the next 50 years.. thinking for future generations.. this is our duty."
Reflecting on history, Sheikh Mohammed recalled the historical role of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in placing the emirate on the regional economic map, saying: "The Dubai Chamber was founded over 55 years ago, and since the days of Sheikh Rashid until today, we have relied on (the chamber) to communicate with traders, convey their opinions, meet their needs, and provide all forms of support." He reiterated that the Dubai Chamber has played a vital role in developing Dubai's economy and building the emirate's reputation as a vibrant financial and business center in the region.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of elevating the chamber's performance to a completely new level through its restructuring, stating: "We have developed the Dubai Chamber, dividing it into three chambers, each with a different role, specific objectives, and expected results.. we will follow up on their implementation on the ground." He addressed the members of the chambers, saying: "My message to everyone is: the economy is our priority.. and you are our partners.. hand in hand, we will lead the UAE towards a renewed, prosperous, and solid economic future." He concluded: "Our goal is to make Dubai the world's leading economic capital."
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has recently been restructured, forming three chambers for the emirate, which include: the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Dubai Global Chamber, and the Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy, as part of a comprehensive integrated approach aimed at rebuilding its tools and workflows, defining the tasks and responsibilities of each chamber to contribute to advancing the business environment in Dubai into a new phase as part of the next 20 years of developmental efforts. These three chambers work towards solidifying Dubai’s position on both the regional and global maps as the most advanced, fastest-growing economy and the ideal environment for embracing and accommodating diverse and bold ideas, in addition to expanding the horizons of Dubai's foreign trade and supporting various economic sectors in the emirate alongside supporting the interests of regional and global companies based in Dubai, as well as establishing new investment opportunities in the digital economy, which is a key driver of future economies.
