Wydad Casablanca Defeats Al Ahly and Crowned with

On Monday evening, Wydad Casablanca was crowned the champion of the African Champions League after defeating Egyptian club Al Ahly at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca. The final match result favored the Moroccan team, which ended the game with a score of 2-0.

The Moroccan team secured the victory with two goals scored by Zahir Motreji. This marks the third time in the club's history that they have won the Champions League, following their victories in 1992 and 2017, while the Egyptian club Al Ahly failed to win the title for the eleventh time.

Playing at home in front of their fans, Wydad started strong and took the lead within the first fifteen minutes after a powerful shot from Zahir Motreji that deceived goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy, igniting the enthusiasm of the supporters in the stands. Motreji added the second goal shortly after the start of the second half (48th minute), surpassing his teammate Congolese Jay Mbenza in the scoring rankings for Wydad in the Champions League this season, with a total of 5 goals.

In contrast, Al Ahly delivered a lackluster performance, and their South African coach Pitso Mosimane struggled to read the match, while the substitutions he made were unable to rectify the situation, particularly given Wydad's strong display.
