The WhatsApp experience is quite similar across all smartphones; however, there are certain features available exclusively to Android users. One of these features is the ability to hide multiple chats at once, as the app offers an option to conceal your conversations in a hidden archived folder. The chats stored there do not appear on the main WhatsApp screen. Here is how to archive multiple chats on an Android phone, according to the website “Gadget Now”:
- Open the WhatsApp application on your Android smartphone.
- Long press on any chat you want to hide or archive.
- Tap on the other chats you wish to hide or archive and select them.
- Press the archive button next to the mute icon in the top bar.
Once you hide your chats, they will be moved to the archived folder. It’s important to note that archived chats will remain in this folder with notifications turned off to reduce interruptions. You can change this feature by going to settings and doing the following:
- Open the WhatsApp application on your smartphone.
- Swipe down from the home screen with all chats.
- You will be able to see the archived folder at the top. Press it.
- All the chats you archived will be visible in this folder.
- To unhide a chat or unarchive it, long press on it and tap the unarchive chat option in the top bar.
