Egypt: New Developments in Ahmed Ezz and Zina's Case

The Nasr City Court in Egypt ruled to reject artist Ahmed Ezz's request to transfer his sons, Ezz El-Din and Zein El-Din, from one school to another. Ezz's lawyer requested that the court move his sons, from artist Zina's custody, from the British school to "Future," according to Egyptian media reports. Zina's lawyer argued for her rights to educational supervision over their twins, Ezz El-Din and Zein El-Din.

On June 11, 2020, the Family Court in Nasr City rejected Ezz’s suit, which sought educational supervision and the transfer of his children to another school. In January 2018, the Family Court granted Zina a divorce from Ezz and ordered him to pay £29,000 in educational expenses for his children.

It is worth mentioning that Zina previously filed a lawsuit against Ezz demanding 900,000 EGP for school expenses for their twin sons, and the court ruled in her favor, obliging Ezz to cover the costs. In February of this year, the court also ordered Ezz to increase the child support for Zina's twins to 60,000 EGP per month.

Last year, the court had ordered Ezz to pay a monthly alimony of 30,000 EGP for the twins, but Zina filed for an increase in this amount. Zina's lawyer submitted a collection of documents including investigations revealing Ezz's ownership of a new villa and a Porsche, requesting the court to increase the child support for his clients.
