Elham Shaheen's First Comment on Praying without a Hijab at Maha Abu Ouf's Funeral

Actress Elham Shaheen commented on her appearance in a photo without a hijab during the funeral prayer for Maha Abu Ouf, saying: "I was wearing a shawl during the prayer, but it accidentally fell during the prayer, and I raised it again." She added in a statement to "Youm7": "The person who took the photo caught me at the moment the shawl fell... and no one should take pictures of people praying."

Regarding the late actress Maha Abu Ouf, Elham Shaheen said: "May God have mercy on her, she was a very kind person who loved life and was simple... I have known her for a long time, and her brother Ezzat Abu Ouf is my friend... I was a friend of the family, and we used to gather at their house during Sham El-Nessim."

She continued: "I participated with Maha Abu Ouf in the movie 'School of Love' a long time ago, and I didn't know she was suffering from cancer, but I noticed she was losing weight without understanding why."

A number of artists bid farewell to Maha Abu Ouf, including Elham Shaheen, Donia Samir Ghanem, Riham Abdel Ghafour, Ashraf Zaki, director Amr Arafa, producer Mohamed El Adl, Ayman Azab, and Mounir Makram.

The actress Maha Abu Ouf passed away on Wednesday evening in a hospital in New Cairo after battling cancer, as she had suffered from it for a period of time until she developed severe pneumonia and was recently transferred to intensive care, where she passed away.

It is noted that the last appearance of actress Maha Abu Ouf was in the series "Velvet Silk," which aired in the past few months, starring Mostafa Fahmy, Dalia Mustafa, Ahmed Wafiq, Maha Abu Ouf, Wala’a El Sherif, Hala Fakher, Sami Maghawry, and Tarek Sabry. The work is based on the novel "Velvet Silk" by Omayma Azaldin, with supervision of the script by Amin Gamal, screenplay and dialogue by Ahmed Abouzeid Tawfik, Shady Asaad, and Hamdy El Tayeh, directed by Ahmed Hassan.
