Expo 2020 Dubai launched its official song today titled "This Is Our Time," just under 10 days before the opening of the international event to the world. The song celebrates the future and highlights pride in the culture of the United Arab Emirates, bringing together countries while narrating the story of the expo’s main slogan "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future" through the language of global music.
The song is led by Emirati star Hussain Al Jassmi, Expo 2020’s ambassador, along with Emirati singer and songwriter Almas, who is 21 years old and has been featured on Spotify's list of the best female talents in the Middle East, alongside Grammy-nominated Lebanese-American singer and songwriter Maysa Qara. Maysa is also the artistic director of the female orchestra of Al-Firdous at Expo and Berklee Abu Dhabi.
Marjan Fadoni, CEO of Visitor Experience at Expo 2020 Dubai, stated: "Expo international exhibitions bring people together, and we are honored to welcome a group of remarkable talents to perform the official song for Expo 2020 Dubai – a song that unites the past, present, and future, inspiring everyone. Being part of such a significant event in the history of the UAE is very exciting and honorable."
Almas expressed: "I am very proud to be Emirati and to have a role in a moment that will forever be part of my country's history. This song embodies hope and certainty that cooperation will lead to a better future for everyone."
