The Council of the Syndicate of Employees and Workers in the Cellular Telecommunications Companies in Lebanon has announced a work stoppage starting at 11 AM today, Friday, alongside field actions, coinciding with the Cabinet meeting "to preserve this sector and ensure its continuity, claim rights, and protect gains." In a message addressed to employees, the syndicate stated: "It seems clear that the telecommunications sector has reached a very difficult and complex stage, nearing the brink of collapse, due to the procrastination and delay of the concerned parties in taking measures to protect the sector for several months. We have been warning about this for a long time, but unfortunately, despite our warnings for over a year, the concerned parties and stakeholders have not been affected. Therefore, we as employees with rights are called to take all escalating steps to safeguard this sector, ensure its continuity, claim rights, and protect gains." Accordingly, the syndicate calls on you to stop working today, Friday, at 11 AM, close all sales centers in the regions (until further notice), and gather starting from 1 PM in front of the Alfa Company building (Pine) Chevrolet, Baabda road, coinciding with the Cabinet meeting at the presidential palace in Baabda.
