The match between the host country Cameroon and Morocco will take place at the "Limbe Omnisport" stadium in the semi-final of the 2020 African Nations Championship.
Cameroon defeated the Democratic Republic of Congo 2-1 in the quarter-finals, while Morocco won against Zambia 3-1 in the other quarter-final.
Morocco's coach, Hussein Ammouta, stated that the Atlas Lions are well-prepared for the semi-final, saying: "We are a good team ready to play good football and win. I know it will be a tough match as we are playing against the hosts who also have a strong team." Ammouta added that although most of his players are new to the team, he is impressed with their work rate and thirst for playing good attacking football, noting that "this tournament helps us in building the team."
The Atlas Lions hope that their leading scorer of the tournament, Sofiane Rahimi, who has three goals, along with captain Ayoub El Kaabi, will provide offensive power in this decisive match. Meanwhile, Cameroon’s unyielding trio of attackers, Salomon Charles Banga, Yanic Ngene, and Felix Oukine Chou, will aim to score and hope to outshine the defending champions.
It is worth noting that this is Cameroon’s first appearance in the CHAN semi-finals, and they will be meeting Morocco for the first time in the competition. The match is scheduled for 9 PM Mecca time and will be broadcast on beIN Sports HD7.
