Expo 2020 Dubai Announces Its Special Passport.. Photos

Expo 2020 Dubai has announced its special passport that will allow residents of the UAE and international visitors alike to "travel" around the world, celebrating their global journey while exploring the more than 200 participating pavilions at the international event. The Expo passport will encourage visitors to see as many pavilions as possible during the 182-day international event and also allows them to relive memories of their experiences after their visit. This distinctive passport was first introduced at Expo 67 in Montreal and has since become one of the most popular memorabilia gifts at international expos for visitors wishing to keep a record of all the various country pavilions they visit by collecting entry stamps as souvenirs.

**Design of the Expo 2020 Dubai Passport**

The design of the Expo 2020 Dubai passport is inspired by the heritage of the United Arab Emirates, linking the past with the present. It resembles an official passport and consists of 50 pages featuring designs and images from the three thematic pavilions (World of Opportunity - Opportunity Pavilion, Alif - Mobility Pavilion, and Terra - Sustainability Pavilion), in addition to Al Wasl - the beating heart of the Expo site, as well as other landmarks in Dubai and the UAE.

The customizable passport comes with enhanced security features, including a unique number, a space for a photo the size of one used in a regular passport, and personal data along with hidden watermarked images on each page, preventing any two passports from looking alike.

As the UAE currently celebrates its Golden Jubilee, the Expo 2020 passport pays tribute to the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, with a special page stamped with gold paper, featuring a photograph from 1971 when the UAE celebrated its union's foundation. On December 2nd, visitors to the Expo will receive a special stamp in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE.

**How to Obtain the Expo 2020 Dubai Passport**

The Expo 2020 Dubai passport can be obtained for 20 UAE dirhams at all official Expo 2020 shops located at the global event site and at the Expo 2020 Dubai store in Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport, as well as through the website expo2020dubai.com/onlinestore.

From October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022, Expo 2020 will gather more than 200 participating entities, including 191 countries as well as companies, multilateral organizations, and educational institutions. The international event, the most diverse in the history of international exhibitions, will invite millions of visitors from around the globe to join in creating a new world during six months of celebrating human ingenuity, innovations, progress, and cultures.
