Social media users circulated a video documenting the moment one of the paramedics broke down in tears after witnessing the remains of victims from the Israeli shelling on the Shati refugee camp. According to the video, a paramedic could not bear to see the victims' remains being placed in the morgue and began to cry and hit the wall with his hands following the Israeli bombardment late last Friday night on the Shati camp.
Palestinian medical sources confirmed earlier that night that eight citizens were killed, including six children and two women, due to an Israeli strike on a house belonging to the Abu Hatab family in the Shati camp west of Gaza City, without warning its residents. Additionally, 15 people were injured, while rescue operations continue.
Israeli warplanes targeted the four-story house with three missiles, causing it to be leveled to the ground. In an escalation triggered by confrontations in occupied East Jerusalem, Israel intensified its bombing of the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire from the besieged sector towards Israel.
Earlier, Tel Aviv reinforced its presence at the Gaza border and deployed troops amid expectations of a ground incursion in an escalation of the ongoing conflict with Palestinian factions in the past few days.
The Palestinian presidency condemned today the "programmed killings" carried out by Israeli forces in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, stating that the number of casualties from the Israeli bombardments in Gaza has reached 122, with 7 in the West Bank up to this moment. Hamas stated in a statement that "the massacre perpetrated by Israel against civilians in the Shati camp is a complete war crime, reflecting the magnitude of the terrorism practiced by the occupation against the Palestinian people."
