A mysterious green spot and bandage have appeared on the head of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un during a military meeting, as captured in images released by local media, which may indicate health issues the North Korean leader is facing. NK News, a site focused on North Korean affairs, reported that the large dark spot or bruise found on the back right side of Kim's head, which was covered by a bandage in some shots, remains unknown and difficult to diagnose using just images.
The mysterious spot or bruise was visible during a military event attended by Kim from July 24 to July 27, as well as in footage from a veterans' conference and related events held from July 27 to July 29. A high-resolution image of Kim on July 28 clearly showed the spot on the back of his head, which appeared to have a greenish tint.
The mysterious spot was not visible during Kim's appearance with musicians on July 11, and it seems that official video footage of Kim throughout the previous week's events avoided broadcasting the spot or bruise. However, state media also released images from those events that clearly show the bandage at the back of his head.
The site pointed out that this latest health mystery in the life of the North Korean leader follows recent concerns about Kim Jong-un's rapid weight loss in May. The new head bandage is a departure from injury signs observed in May 2020 after his extended absence, when a dark spot appeared on Kim's arm, and some medical experts suggested it could be linked to heart diseases.
