A responsible source in Saraya al-Salam, affiliated with the Sadrist movement in Iraq, revealed today, Thursday, the truth about the dispute between Al-Atabah Al-Ilahiya in Samarra and Saraya al-Salam. Social media sites circulated today photos purportedly related to a conflict between Saraya al-Salam, the military wing of the Sadrist movement, and Al-Atabah Al-Ilahiya in Samarra, due to an exhibition of photos organized by the troops.
The source, who is an official in the Samarra Operations Command for Saraya al-Salam, stated in an interview with "Baghdad Today": "The news claiming there is a disagreement with Al-Atabah Al-Ilahiya is entirely incorrect. The relationship between the two parties is very good. We communicate with them daily and coordinate on any matters without any disputes."
The source noted that "the photo exhibition is held annually and this is not the first time; it is dedicated to the memory of the martyrdom of the reference Mr. Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr."
An earlier security source reported that about 280 members of Saraya al-Salam stormed the checkpoint and entrance of the shrine early today and forcibly brought in their photos and banners, displaying them within Al-Atabah Al-Ilahiya. The source indicated that "the storming operation took place today after Saraya al-Salam blocked the road leading to the sacred shrine for three consecutive days."
